In the event of a medical emergency patients should dial 999.
If patients experience any of the following symptoms they should dial 999 for the emergency services
- Chest pain
- Severe difficulty in breathing
- Collapse
- Brain attack
- Unconscious/difficulty in rousing
- Stroke/sudden vision loss/ speech difficulty
- Fitting (fit longer than 10 mins if epileptic)
- Early pregnancy (under 12 wks)
- Haemorrhage
- Abdominal pains
- Ill child – floppy/unusually drowsy
- Severe bleeding
- Spinal injury
- Severe allergic reaction especially if lips/tongue swelling
