In the event of a medical emergency patients should dial 999.

 

If patients experience any of the following symptoms they should dial 999 for the emergency services

 

  • Chest pain
  • Severe difficulty in breathing
  • Collapse
  • Brain attack
  • Unconscious/difficulty in rousing
  • Stroke/sudden vision loss/ speech difficulty
  • Fitting (fit longer than 10 mins if epileptic)
  • Early pregnancy (under 12 wks)
  • Haemorrhage
  • Abdominal pains
  • Ill child – floppy/unusually drowsy
  • Severe bleeding
  • Spinal injury
  • Severe allergic reaction especially if lips/tongue swelling
